The concept behind IVT is rooted in the challenges faced by astronauts in space. In a zero-gravity environment, the body’s natural fluid dynamics are disrupted. Blood and other fluids tend to pool in the upper body, leading to a host of health issues. To counteract this, NASA developed a device called the Lower Body Negative Pressure (LBNP) unit.
